2'11" x 13'8 1/2" Vintage Persian Serab Runner
The Serab Runner is a gorgeous and thick piece that will look great on your hardwood floor and last for many, many years to come.
Here is a little history of the Serab Carpets:
Serab Rugs are known for their fine long rugs or runners with a characteristic camel ground and lozenge-shaped medallions. These rugs are woven in the village of Serab, located near Heriz in Persia. They are now used as a trade name for certain types of Qashqai weaving, such as Mecca Shiraz.
The angular style of antique carpets from Serab bears some similarity to tribal Bakshaish rugs and those made by Kashgai weavers. These decorative runners are traditionally made in the county of Sarab and the eponymous city, which is located in the northern province of East Azerbaijan, also known as Azarbaijan-e-Sharqi.
